Four Eyed Monsters

On TechCrunch I saw a post about this new independent feature film being posted on YouTube. Being a film appreciator (and an advocate of YouTube), I had to check it out. I wasn’t expecting what I found. The film was amazingly well done, as if it had the backing of a large studio. The movie is called Four Eyed Monsters. Purchase it here or view the YouTube version here (only available for one week). The two creators stared in the film as well and gave fantastic performances convincing everyone of their characters. What shocked me most though, was the skill demonstrated in the editing process. After watching this movie for a few minutes, you can tell just how much effort went into the post production. There are hundreds of quick cuts of all different kinds of things, and hundreds of minutes of footage was shot to allow such a great approach to the film. Some films try to appear all artsy, but I think this film really had a reason for this type of editing. This effect contributed to the inner-workings of these characters. Flash after flash of MySpace page and flash after flash of them sitting in front of their computers or working tables at a restaurant truly accented the film’s purpose and theme. I have to give them props for the sheer amount of work it must have taken to edit all those clips together. Quite the Final Cut genius I have to say. Anyways, definitely check out this film, either below in the embed or on the YouTube site or purchase the DVD. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you will as well. If you liked the film or, hell, if you even read this blog post, please go over to Spout.com and join their service through that link. It will give the creators a dollar for every person that joins. This will help them to make films in the future, which I hope they definitely will.
