Who Wants a DSLR? I do!

After seeing Paul’s post today and talking to my friend Craig, I’ve decided I really need a DSLR. It’s price point is a bit of a turn-off, but I think it’s really an important step in making great shots. I probably won’t be getting one for awhile, but I still want to get one. After taking a look at some shots by Craig, it just makes me wish I had that. Take a look at some of these and tell me you don’t want to lay down $1000+ for a sweet Nikon.

I really love these photos, and I can’t help myself from maybe going out and starting to look for a new camera. If you liked these photos, please go and add them as Faves on flickr and/or leave a comment.

Wow those are some great shots.. I really need to learn how to take pictures now that I’ve got all the gear.

Yeah Paul, Craig’s stuff is really, really good. I can’t wait until I get better at photography. It’s something I’m hoping to take at Rice.

Wow, those are some phenomenal shots. I’m also a big fan of Kristen Pishdadi’s work, particularly the ones of her kids.

I’d love to get a DSLR too. I was in the market for one about 2 months ago (looking for a used one in the ~$450 range), but unfortunately my point & shoot took an untimely demise and so the money went partially towards that.

Whoops, that’s Kristin Pishdadi, not Kristen.

I’m pretty amazed by those shots. DSLRs can really be worth it, if you’re really going to use it and get your money’s worth out of it. The possibilities go on and on. Good luck with this.

$1000+ for a sweet Nikon.
… pfft !!

$1000+ for a sweet Cannon !

Or Even Better $3500 for a 5D !

There are certainly some sweet tricks that are easier to pull off with a dSLR.

The church, for example, is an HDR merged image… check out http://www.hdrsoft.com for more details (and software) to do this.

The Hill Head shot looked that way, too… but the lighting balance might have been just perfect. :)
