3rd Place at Area TCEA

On Saturday, we participated in the San Antonio TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) programming contest. The contest pits school teams of 3 students against each other in 2 hours of furious Java programming. There are three sets of problems: 6 easy questions worth 2 points each, 6 medium question worth 5 points each, and 6 hard questions worth 9 points each. The team with the most points from correct problems wins the contest. Alamo Heights sent 4 teams. Our team scored the highest for AH. James Bailey, T.J. Titus and I worked together to score 34 points (5 twos, 3 fives, and 1 nine). This was enough to get 3rd place in Area. We most likely will be going to State to compete with all of Texas. Here are some of the pictures from the contest:

It was really fun, and it’s a great way to apply programming skills under pressure. Wish us look on State.
