Flip, A Closer Chris Madrids

Flip1
On Friday, our “crew” headed over to a new restaurant by the quarry called Flip Burgers. After we finished the Senior Awards ceremony we piled into Will’s car and were thinking of where to go. Will’s car had been papered and we looked at the advertisement, a restaurant called flip with a cool logo. We decided to check it out.
On our way by the Quarry, we drove past some, well how do you say, morons. There were some people standing on the sidewalk by Basse and holding signs protesting The Da Vinci Code. Now Will, Andy, Matt and I enjoyed ourselves as we pulled up alongside and screamed things like “Da Vinci saved my life,” “You’re a fucking moron,” etc. (Wow, that’s the first time I said fuck on the blog, but I don’t think it was me when we drove by.) Anyway, after we were far way from those moronic Christians, we pulled into Flip.

I’ll start with my only gripe, which conveniently was the first thing we encountered. Parking. Let’s just say that there was almost no where to park. The lot is behind Flip and is shared by all those restaurants, so Will had to pull in tight along side some terribly parked car far from Flip. But the rest was great.

We went inside and the decorations and furniture hit me first. This place has something. It’s got a cool style and a great atmosphere. We walked up to the counter that serves as your ordering stand as well as the bar. We got burgers, except for the Kozel, and because we were from Heights, we got a free drink. Sweet! It was pretty packed inside with its very cool tables and chairs, so we went outside. We sat out in the patio, and chatted. The place seemed really pleasant, and lends itself to being a great place for a live band. When our food came, we went up to the second counter and picked it up. MMMMM. Yummy. It looks great. They have a salsa station, but I’m satisfied with my burger. And, what a burger. This was in my opinion the best burger in SA. It’s really influenced by Chris Madrid’s but it has really good bread. No, not a bun, but real bread. The fries were good and the cheese was plentiful. What can I say, this was a great hamburger, with a great location. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars. I think they even have wi-fi.

So go check out Flip alongside the Quarry close to Chipotle. Until next time,
Dustin
