Alright,

A few days ago, I opened a PDF file in Safari. For some really weird reason, I got a completely garbaged font. Look at the picture below to see what I mean.

I opened it in Preview, and it looked the same. I was really bothered because this shouldn’t have been happening. I tried out PDF files that I knew had looked fine and there it was, the same problem. The weird thing is that I opened it in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro (Yes, the legal version), and everything was fine. Right fonts, right sizes, right everything.

So, I googled a little, trying to find some forum post or something. I ran accross a post recommending a Mac App on a similar but not exact problem. I gave it a try, and suprisingly it fixed everything.

It was a pretty simple fix. Just open up the app. Let it run, and then restart. Here is what the pdf looks like after Font Finagler fixed the font corruption issue:
