My Harry Potter 6 Review
Ok. Who’s read the 6 book? Probably most people. I had it delivered the day it came out. Amazon.com kept their word and I had it before 7pm on Saturday. I didn’t crack it open immediately, but it wasn’t long before I was engrossed in it. It took me 1 day and 7 hours, of course I wasn’t reading straight through (unfortunately I must sleep/eat/watch TV). So there I was Sunday night at around 11:30. I had 100 pages to go. And once you reach that point there is no possibility that you could go to sleep until its finished. So I churned through another 100 pages late in the night and completed it. Something like 500 pages in one day. Not a stellar accomplishment, but a pretty big one at least for me.
This one was definitely the best of the 6. Finally, Harry becomes aggressive and starts turning much more into a teenager (the arrogance and all). The love story was ok. It seems that no story can exist with some love interest. When was the last time you saw a movie without the story getting into some crappy fake love subplot. But still great book. The atmosphere was great. Again you feel yourself plunged in the wizarding world of England. This time, the world is in peril as Voldermort has arisen again. Like book #3 this one had a very dark tone. We also see some new relationships progress such as Harry and Dumbledore. It’s always fun to accompany Dumbledore and Harry on their trips into memories. Then JK Rowling really showed some balls and wrote the final scene. I’m not going to ruin it, but it was really unexpected. I had to read that section over again just realize that it did just happen. I was shocked. That couldn’t have just happened!
Anyways, I highly recommend this. Its just too good of a story to pass up.
And damnit, I can’t wait until book 7.
Until next time,
-Good day, Mr. Stewart.
